Some Old Stuff

Hey Kids!

Here's some old model sheets from season one. Someone pointed out that the team lineups were never posted. These drawings are the FINAL DESIGNS from way way back in 2006. You probably might have guessed that here were all sorts of design changes during the development process -- but did you know that these drawings are the 19th version of the lineups?

Earlier lineups had different colours, character sizes, heights, etc. But this is pretty much where we ended up before the show started airing in July 2007.

  6. Thank you very much. These pictures are very cool. Now I have something to draw the characters by. I should have saved those rotations while they were up...

  7. Wow, nineteen, that's a lot of rough drafts. xD

I suppose it's just a coincidence, but I couldn't help noticing that the two winners were in the center of their teams. Did you always plan for those two to be the main characters of both seasons?

  8. Rebutting on Grace's comment -

Duncan is not, nor will he ever be, the main character of either season.

I hate Duncan. I have no idea why he has fans. He is not a good guy. He is not even a bad guy. He is not at all funny, even remotely. He did not deserve any money. He is practically useless in challenges, and don't even tell me he won the dodge ball challenge for the Bass. That was entirely Harold's doing, as was the next challenge, and several TDA challenges.

And now that I'm on that topic, I don't understand why Harold does not have as many fans. Harold is eighteen times the person Duncan is. Maybe even nineteen. More likely twenty. Harold has wicked and amazing skills. He's a good person. He's very innocent and deserving. Not to mention he's the funniest frickin' character on the show. He's hilarious! He's the dweeb inside of us all, plus some of the amazingness on our outside!

Duncan makes me sick, as does his brat of a girlfriend, Courtney.

If either of those two wins third season, I'll throw up all over my television screen. I nearly did when he won TDA. Beth was so much of a better choice!

Duncan is indeed my least favorite character, and Harold my favorite, with all the others somewhere in between.

Ugh, I can't stand that person. Why Harold voted off Leshawna instead of him in episode 43 remains a mystery to me - no, actually, I know why. The writers wanted Duncan in to keep making Harold miserable! If this were an actual reality show, that was not scripted, Duncan or Courtney would be off in the very first episode and one of the characters that has a reason to be liked - i.e., Harold, Leshawna, Beth, Geoff, Bridgette, DJ - would win. Not that I'm criticizing Owen's win. He deserved it, was liked by everyone, and was funny to boot. Gwen is along the same lines as Duncan, but I prefer Gwen because she DESERVED it.

Ugh - Duncan's fans need a reality check - so to speak - and place their votes with someone worthier.

That's all I have to say on the subject.

    *takes a breath*

  9. I don't hate Duncan, but I have to agree with Jordan.

I love TD, but I think the writers want viewers to think that being... well... "bad" will make you a winner, while if you're a geek, a nerd, or similar, you will be a loser, no matter what.
There are many characters that deserve to win, such as Beth, Harold, Cody (he's a good person after all) and even Gwen...

  10. why is owen the crazy party guy and geoff is the funniest guy arround? should it be the other way arround? was it a mistake? i guess owen likes parties too but i think party guy describes geoff more than funniest guy.

  11. Can you post the earlier lineups, too? I really want to see them.

  12. Hahaha, the descriptions were really funny. It would be interesting to see their actual heights, though, but this line up is awesome too

  13. Can you put the other line-ups? Please?

  14. I agree with Jordan about Duncan, but I personally think Courtney is pretty awesome. I though of myself as being a lot like her; smart, crafty, competative. But I felt embarresed that I thought that when I saw her in season 2. I'm sorry, but even though she is my favorite character, she was just over the TOP in season 2. And in that character lineup, "Chef Hatchet: The chef (Duh)"
    I'm sitting here cracking up!!!
